Floating tea infuser that makes hot-water measurement sensory and calm
Tea Buoy rethinks the overlooked challenge of safely measuring hot water. Existing electronic devices for visually impaired users often depend on unreliable sensors and loud alarms that disrupt the calm of daily life.
Recognizing that most people heat water for tea, Boey Wang combined the function of a water-level indicator with the ritual of tea-making. Floating gently on the surface, Tea Buoy lets users feel and see when the cup is filled, while its tactile form and balanced weight make it safe and easy to handle.
Made from food-grade silicone and stainless steel, it replaces digital noise with a silent, sensory cue—turning a practical aid into a peaceful and shared experience. As part of the Sensory Cooking collection, Tea Buoy embodies Boey Wang’s vision of bridging disability and non-disability through tactile design.
